Quality Policy


Management and Staff of Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd is committed to maintaining its quality of products and services by implementing a Quality Management System which will be certified to AS/NZ ISO 9001:2016 for Quality Management

Our key objective in this area is to provide a quality service that is on time, on budget, to specifications and to the Client's Satisfaction, and to treat any customer complaint as a non conformance, which will be rectified immediately, where possible, with all non conformances closed out within 7 days. This will be measured by repeat business, account payments on time and customer satisfaction surveys.

Through our process of Internal/External Audits, Management Review Meetings and Customer satisfaction it will measure our performance and ensure that all opportunities to continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System are captured and actioned

WHS Policy


Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd is committed to eliminating all risks and hazards in the workplace to provide & maintain a safe & healthy workplace for all staff, contractors and members of the public by providing sufficient resources and training to comply with the WH & S 2011 Act & Regulations. WHS Regulations will be evaluated for compliance as required via Internet and Hard Copy retained in Office.

Our key objectives will be:

 

  • Set & Monitor Health & Safety objectives with the aim to eliminate all workplace injury.

  • Provide safety induction & training for all employees and contractors to ensure everyone can perform their duties safely & efficiently and provide protective clothing and safety equipment.

  • Provide clear work procedures to assist everyone carry out their duties using safe & well maintained equipment.

  • Implement & maintaining programs to identify, evaluate & control workplace hazards.

  • Ensure all incidents are reported and investigated to minimise the possibility of injury in the future

  • Ensure management are accountable for the implementation of the requirements of Health & Safety in the workplace

  • All employees of Leroy Excavations will be periodically kept up-to-date with their WHS obligations and/or changes through internal tool box meetings


Employees also have a responsibility to themselves and other workers to eliminate or control risk in the workplace and report all incidents.

Environmental Policy


With a growing concern for our environment, Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd have implemented a systematic approach to controlling pollution of the environment. Consideration for our environment is of the utmost importance.

Resources in line with the importance attached to our environment will be made available to comply with all relevant Acts and Regulations and to ensure that the workplace is safe and without risks. Environmental Acts & Regulations will be evaluated for compliance as required via internet and a hard copy retained in the office.

It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure:
1.  Ensure that all employees and subcontractors are fully aware and compliant with their environmental responsibilities and obligations required by legislation and the contracts.
2.  The workplace under their control is free from polluting the environment and,
3.  Any refuse or waste product is to be removed, controlled, or treated to prevent pollution of the environment, and
4.  All legislative requirements are being met

It is the responsibility of Management to:
1.  Provide services in a professional and environmentally responsible manner to its Clients and maintaining a environmentally aware place of work at all of its places of work e.g. office, yard and field
2.  Identify and conform to legislative requirements pertaining to our industry
3.  Identifying what activities the Company carries out that affects or interacts with the environment
4.  Consult with the necessary authorities regarding waste disposal to ensure responsible waste management
5.  Design and implement safe systems of operation
6.  Design and implement correct disposal procedures
7.  Implement an environmental preventive maintenance programme at each work site
8.  Implement an employee awareness programme
9.  Work with Staff, Suppliers, Subcontractors, and other interested parties to encourage the reduction of environmental impacts of the Company's business
10.  Achieve minimal pollution and other environmental incidents
11.  Eliminate noise when and where possible
12.  Eliminate any unnecessary chemical usage & using chemicals or other substances that meet with legislative requirements
13.  Ensure contamination of soils and water ways are not at risk due to incorrect waste disposal, spills or other accidents

All employees are required to co-operate with management in our commitment to continual improvement so that the policy, programmes and legislative requirements ensure that the environment remains in a safe and healthy condition.

Fatigue Management Policy


Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd is committed to maintaining a safe work environment by properly managing fatigue to comply with the NSW WHS 2011 Regulations Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd will ensure fatigue management by only engaging in safe hours of work and allowing employees sufficient periods for rest & recuperation.

All employees will be educated in fatigue management so they are able to recognise signs of fatigue in themselves and others, and to take the necessary measures to ensure fatigue does not affect workplace safety. All employees should be able to recognise the following as symptoms of fatigue:

  • Heavy or tired eyes

  • Feeling of frustration or aggression toward other workers

  • Loss of concentration or attention

  • Headaches

  • Yawning

  • Poor Judgement


All employees are responsible for attending work fit for duty. The following measure should be followed to minimise fatigue:

  • Ensure sufficient continuous sleep had been obtained

  • Working within working time limits

  • Taking short breaks

  • Ensure there are no health factors that could contribute to fatigue

  • Avoid alcohol and drugs prior to commencing work


If an employee believes they are unfit for their duties due to fatigue they should immediately advise their supervisor, and are to take sick leave for that day. If frequent leave is required due to fatigue, it is the responsibility of mangement/supervisors to discuss with the employee any issues that may be contributing to the fatigue, and to raise the possible need to seek medical advice.

This policy covers all employees of Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd.

Drug & Alcohol Policy


Under the NSW WHS 2011 Regulations, Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd has an obligation to provide a safe working environment for all employees. To comply to this obligation all employees of Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd are expected to report to work with an alcohol blood concentration level less than 0.02% and any level of drugs to be less than the cut off levels stipulated by Australian Standard AS/NZS 4308 to comply with Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd supports good management practice and will achieve this by implementing a Drug & Alcohol policy which will:

  • Ensure a safe working environment

  • Promote low level/low risk drug and alcohol use in relation to the workplace

  • Maintain and/or restore the good health and welfare of all employees

  • Reduce levels of drug & alcohol related costs including absenteeism, low productivity and accidents

  • To provide information about referral to counselling, treatment & rehabilitation services


The following guidelines are to be observed by all employees of Leroy Excavations:

  • Alcohol & illicit drugs shall not be consumed on company premises, in company vehicles or machinery or in any time as paid employees of the company.

  • Employees taking prescription drugs that may affect alertness or that are not recommended to be taken whilst driving or operating machinery, must notify their supervisor

  • No alcohol should be consumed prior to commencing duty

  • Any employee affected by alcohol or any other drug will not be allowed to work until they are fit to do so. If an employee is sent home to recover due to being affected by drugs or alcohol will not be paid for the time lost

  • Non-Compliance with the drug and alcohol policy will be viewed as a serious matter and treated in the same way as any breach of company policy and will be dealt with accordingly


It is the responsibility of all employees to identify and report any conditions in the work environment that may contribute to drug & alcohol problems in the workplace.

It is also the responsibility of all employees to report any concerns in relation drug or alcohol use of other employees so that issues can be identified and treatment can be provided. All identifications will be strictly confidential.

Harassment Policy


Leroy Excavations Pty Ltd is committed to providing a work environment in which employees feel that they are a valued member of the company that they are treated fairly and are given recognition for their contribution. We also aim to provide an environment that fosters good working relationships.

The process for reporting harassment will be to notify Management immediately, Management will take all cases seriously and take appropriate action.
